1. Pursuant to the request contained in section X, paragraph 1, of General Assembly resolution 46/185 B of 20 December 1991, the Secretary-General submitted his report on the costs of staff representation activities for the biennium 1990-1991. 1/

Mrs. EMERSON (Portugal), referring to the issue of transparency and accurate information, said that it had come to her attention in the course of informal consultations that the information provided by the Secretariat regarding the costs of staff representation activities in document A/C.5/47/59 was inaccurate.

On 31 May 1995, the corrigendum to the report on the costs of staff representation activities during the biennium 1990-1991 was issued (A/C.5/49/63), as well as the report of the Secretary-General on costs of staff representation activities during 1992, 1993 and 1994 (A/C.5/49/64).

11. Also, as indicated in the Secretary-General's report (A/C.5/49/64) on the costs of staff representation activities during 1992, 1993 and 1994, a staff member had been released full-time during that period to assist CCISUA.

In section V, paragraph 1 of the resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to " issue a corrigendum to [his] report on the costs of staff representation activities (A/C.5/47/59) and to report separately to the Assembly, at the earliest possible opportunity, on the modalities and costs of staff representation since 1992 " .

In section V, paragraph 1, of its resolution 49/222 of 23 December 1995, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General " in the light of the information on staff representation provided to the Fifth Committee during the forty-ninth regular session of the General Assembly, to issue a corrigendum to his report on the costs of staff representation activities ... " . 1/ The present report is submitted in accordance with that request.
٢ - وفي الفقرة ١ من الجزء خامسا من القرار ٤٩/٢٢٢، المؤرخ ٢٣ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٤، طلبت الجمعية العامة من اﻷمين العام " أن يقوم، في ضوء المعلومات المتعلقة بتمثيل الموظفين، المقدمة إلى اللجنة الخامسة خلال الدورة التاسعة واﻷربعين للجمعية العامة، بإصدار تصويب لتقريره عن تكاليف أنشطة تمثيل الموظفين ...
