(10) The Committee reiterates its concern, as already expressed in its consideration of preceding reports, that the State party has still not brought the definition of the offence of torture contained in the Criminal Code fully into line with the Convention (arts. 1 and 4).

The Comisión Ecuménica de Derechos Humanos (CEDHU) said that, to date, the definition of the offence of torture in the Ecuadorian legislation has not fully been brought in line with the definition contained in the Convention Against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
