For example, the Economic and Social Council should fully exercise its role as the overall coordinating body of all United Nations development funds and programmes.

His Government supported United Nations activities to implement the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the 1990s and emphasized the useful contribution made to that effort by the United Nations development funds and programmes, which assisted the least developed countries in mobilizing resources for development.

٣٥٩ - وينبغي أن تجري الصناديق والبرامج اﻹنمائية لمنظومة اﻷمم المتحدة تحليلا عاجلا لمدى توجيه برامجها ومشاريعها الى تنفيذ منهاج العمل، ويتعين بالنسبة لدورة البرمجة المقبلة ضمان كفاية الموارد الموجهة نحو إزالة أوجه التفاوت بين الرجل والمرأة في أنشطة التعاون والتمويل التقنيين المدرجة فيها.

In the economic and social fields the United Nations system has seen a host of major reforms, the most recent of which are provided for in General Assembly resolutions 45/264, 46/235 and 48/162 regarding the functioning of the Economic and Social Council and the functions and composition of the governing bodies of United Nations development funds and programmes.
