In its decision 2005/306, the Council decided to defer consideration of the report of the Committee for Development Policy to a later date, with a view to concluding its deliberation before the commencement of the eighth session of the Committee.

D. Monitoring the development progress of graduating countries 96. The Economic and Social Council, in its resolution 2011/20, requested the Committee for Development Policy to monitor the development progress of countries graduating from the least developed country category.

1. Requests the Committee for Development Policy to continue developing a consistent set of criteria that can be applied to all recommendations regarding the inclusion on and graduation from the list of least developed countries, with due account being taken of economic vulnerability as a structural characteristic of the least developed countries;

2. Endorses the request of the Committee for Development Policy to be informed by the Secretary-General during the transition period on the implementation of the transition strategy of graduating countries and on their development progress, as laid out in General Assembly resolution 59/209 in order to enable the Committee to carry out the function assigned to it in paragraph 12 of that resolution;
2 - يؤيد طلب لجنة السياسات الإنمائية أن يطلعها الأمين العام خلال الفترة الانتقالية على تنفيذ استراتيجية الانتقال للبلدان التي يُرفع اسمها من القائمة وعلى التقدم المحرز() كما هو مبين في قرار الجمعية العامة 59/209 من أجل تمكين اللجنة من القيام بالوظيفة المكلفة بها في الفقرة 12 من ذلك القرار؛

16. In resolution 1999/67, paragraph 6, the Economic and Social Council requested the Committee for Development Policy to include in its report to be submitted to the Council in 2000 its views on the theme for the high-level segment of the Council in 2000, namely " Development and international cooperation in the twenty-first century: the role of information technology in the context of a knowledge-based global economy " .
