267. The distinguished Committee set out recommendations in its report on the outcomes of its consideration of Egypt's last report.
267- أوردت اللجنة الموقرة في تقريرها الصادر عن نتائج مناقشة التقرير الأخير لمصر توصياتها بشأنه.

The distinguished Committee noted Egypt's view as to this matter and recommended Egypt to provide information on these groups, in particular social and economic indicators reflecting their situation, including their participation in public life and the preservation of their culture.
وقد أحاطت اللجنة الموقرة علماً بوجهة نظر مصر في هذا الخصوص وأوصت بتقديم معلومات عن هذه المجموعات، وبخاصة عن المؤشرات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي تعكس حالة هذه المجموعات، بما في ذلك مشاركتها في الحياة العامة ومحافظتها على ثقافتها.

Qatar is honoured to submit this report to the Committee against Torture in accordance with article 19, paragraph 1, of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and in line with the guidelines and general recommendations issued by the distinguished Committee.

The Government of the Republic of Yemen is pleased to provide clarifications in response to the distinguished Committee's questions and, in this regard, wishes to highlight the following points.
ويسر حكومة الجمهورية اليمنية أن تتقدم إلى اللجنة الموقرة بإيضاحات حول الاستفسارات الصادرة عن اللجنة، وتود التنويه في هذا الصدد إلى عدد من الإيضاحات الموجزة وهي:

262. While submitting this report to the distinguished Committee, Egypt wishes to express its readiness to reply to any questions that might be raised by the experts on the Committee and to provide the Committee with any information that it might request.
٢٦٢- وإذ ترفع مصر تقريرها هذا للجنة الموقرة فإنها على استعداد للرد على كافة اﻷسئلة والاستفسارات التي يبديها السادة الخبراء باللجنة، وكذلك لتزويد اللجنة الموقرة بكافة ما تطلبه من معلومات.

" We do not wish to expatiate any further on this issue and we do apologize for speaking at such great length; however, we felt strongly about the need to explain our position once again before this distinguished Committee.

In conformity with the distinguished Committee's guidelines and general instructions and the amendments thereto, the report shall consist of three parts. Part I contains general information about the State party, part II a commentary on articles 1 to 27 of the Covenant, and part III Egypt's reply to the Committee's requests for information arising from its consideration of Egypt's second periodic report.
والتزاماً بالمبادئ التوجيهية والتعليقات العامة الصادرة عن اللجنة الموقرة وتعديلاتها، سيتضمن التقرير ثلاثة أجزاء هي: الأول: وهو جزء عام عن التعريف بالدولة العضو، والثاني: وهو تعليق على المواد من 1 إلى 27 من العهد، والثالث: وهو رد على استفسارات اللجنة الموقرة عند مناقشة التقرير الدوري الثاني لمصر.

In submitting this report to the distinguished Committee, Egypt reiterates its ongoing willingness to reply to all of the Committee's questions concerning the implementation of the provisions of the Covenant forming the subject of this report. Egypt also wishes the Committee enduring success in its exalted mission on behalf of all mankind.

The Government of the Republic of Yemen welcomes the distinguished Committee's positive comments on the spirit of constructive cooperation and understanding which characterized the discussions and interventions on both sides and its acknowledgement of the country's significant achievements in promoting human rights and raising human rights standards.
وإذ ترحب الحكومة اليمنية بالملاحظات الإيجابية التي انتهت إليها اللجنة الموقرة والمعبرة عن روح التعاون والتفاهم الإيجابيين اللذين سادا جلسات النقاش والمداخلات من الجانبين، واستيعاب اللجنة مجمل الإنجازات الهامة التي شهدتها البلاد في سبيل تعزيز حقوق الإنسان والارتقاء بها إلى المستوى المنشود.

Yemen welcomes the distinguished Committee's positive comments on the spirit of cooperation and understanding which characterized the discussions between, and the interventions of, the two sides, together with its acknowledgement of all the important achievements that Yemen has scored in promoting human rights and raising human rights standards to the desired level.
وإذ ترحب الحكومة اليمنية بالملاحظات الإيجابية التي انتهت إليها اللجنة الموقرة والمعبرة عن مستوى التعاون والتفاهم الذي ساد جلسات النقاش ومداخلات الجانبين، واستيعاب اللجنة مجمل الإنجازات الهامة التي شهدتها البلاد في سبيل تعزيز حقوق الإنسان والارتقاء بها إلى المستوى المنشود.

5. In accordance with article 9 of the Convention, Egypt submitted its combined thirteenth to sixteenth periodic reports, which were considered by the distinguished Committee at its 1484th and 1485th sessions, held on 10 and 13 August 2001.
5- وإنفاذاً للمادة 9 من الاتفاقية قدمت مصر التقرير الدوري الجامع للتقارير من الثالث عشر وحتى السادس عشر، والذي تمت مناقشته أمام اللجنة الموقرة في الجلستين 1484 و485 المنعقدتين في 10 و13 آب/أغسطس 2001.

38. For information on this matter, please refer to Egypt's previous report to the distinguished Committee. Instruments to which Egypt has acceded during the period covered in the present report are additionally listed below.

268. This part of the report briefly sets out Egypt's response to those recommendations, describing below the action taken to address them, following the same order in which they appear in the concluding observations of the distinguished Committee.
268- وسيتم في هذا الجزء إيجاز رد مصر على تلك التوصيات وإيضاح ما تم بشأنها وفقاً للترتيب الوارد من اللجنة الموقرة في تقريرها الخاص بالملاحظات الختامية، وذلك فيما يلي أدناه.

I would appreciate if you would kindly bring the contents of this letter to the attention of the distinguished Rapporteur, Mr. Rechetov, and other distinguished Committee members, and also give consideration to this letter at the Committee's session at the time of consideration of the next Yugoslav progress report.
