The request further indicates that subsequent to the LIS, during the course of demining operations in the Borkou and Enedi region in the north of Chad, new areas containing or suspected to contain anti-personnel mines were discovered totalling approximately 96 square kilometres (96,297,542 square metres), including 3 minefields located close to Wadi Doum (960,000 square metres).

Following the preparation of the impact survey, in the course of demining and reconnaissance operations conducted by teams from the National Demining Centre and other teams in the Borkou and Ennedi area in northern Chad, other hazardous zones and new anti-personnel and anti-tank minefields were identified in an area of 96,297,542 m2, including three minefields near Ouadi Doum (an estimated area of 960,000 m²).
