179. At the third meeting, the Main Committee considered agenda item 5 (b), " To assess the effectiveness of the existing Durban follow-up mechanisms and other relevant United Nations mechanisms dealing with the issue of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in order to enhance them " .
179- وفي الجلسة الثالثة، نظرت اللجنة الرئيسة في البند 5(ب) من جدول الأعمال، " تقييم فعالية آليات متابعة مؤتمر ديربان الاستعراضي القائمة وغيرها من الآليات ذات الصلة التابعة للأمم المتحدة والتي تعالج مسألة العنصرية، والتمييز العنصري، وكره الأجانب، وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب بغية تحسين هذه الآليات " .

9. SADC reaffirmed the principle of non-discrimination, condemned all racist ideologies and reiterated the importance of the Durban follow-up mechanisms.
9- وقال إن الجماعة تؤكد من جديد مبدأ عدم التمييز وتدين جميع الأيديولوجيات العنصرية كما تؤكد من جديد على أهمية آليات متابعة ديربان.

It also stressed the imperative for the General Assembly to engage with the Durban follow-up mechanisms in the same manner as other special procedures and mechanisms of the Human Rights Council addressed contemporary manifestations of racial discrimination such as misuse of the Internet by extremist groups, and touched on the significant work of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
كما يشدد مشروع القرار على ضرورة قيام الجمعية العامة بالمشاركة مع آليات متابعة ديربان بالطريقة التي تتصدى بها الإجراءات الخاصة وآليات مجلس حقوق الإنسان الأخرى للمظاهر المعاصرة للتمييز العنصري مثل إساءة استخدام الجماعات المتطرفة لشبكة الإنترنت، ويتطرق الى العمل الهام الذي تضطلع به لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري.

124. The Working Group recommends the establishment within OHCHR of an observatory to review and report on progress in the implementation by Member States and specialized agencies of the United Nations, as appropriate, of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action and the Outcome Document of the Durban Review Conference, as well as recommendations by the Durban follow-up mechanisms pertaining to people of African descent.
124- ويوصي الفريق العامل بإنشاء مرصد داخل المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان من أجل استعراض التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ الدول الأعضاء والوكالات المتخصصة التابعة للأمم المتحدة، حسب الاقتضاء، لإعلان وبرنامج عمل ديربان والوثيقة الختامية لمؤتمر استعراض ديربان، وتوصيات آليات متابعة ديربان المتعلقة بالسكان المنحدرين من أصل أفريقي، وتقديم التقارير عن هذا التقدم.
