وبموجب قانون الجنسية فإن الميلاد في مصر من أسباب منح الجنسية المصرية مثل حالة اللقطاء وأبناء الأم المصرية وحالة كون الأبوين من مجهولي الجنسية.

In accordance with the provisions of the Nationality Law (Law No. 26 of 1975), anyone, male or female, who is born in Egypt to an Egyptian mother and whose father is of unknown nationality or is stateless is entitled to Egyptian nationality.

Article 5 of the Constitution states that Egyptian nationality shall be regulated by law. The Nationality Law, Law No. 26 of 1975, is in conformity with all the provisions of the relevant international instruments in this regard, and it seeks to reduce instances of statelessness and avoid cases of dual nationality in order to mitigate the effects of conflicts of laws at the international level.
أوردت المادة الخامسة من الدستور أن الجنسية المصرية ينظمها القانون وقد جاء قانون الجنسية رقم 26 لسنة 1975 ملتزما بكافة الأحكام الواردة بالاتفاقيات الدولية في هذا الشأن وهي الالتزام لخفض حالات انعدام الجنسية وتفادي حالات الازدواجية لتخفيف آثار تنازع القوانين دوليا بشأنها.

The disappearance allegedly occurred in 1996 and concerns a university professor of Egyptian nationality who was reportedly seconded from Assyat University in Egypt to Agman University in the United Arab Emirates, and who is said to have disappeared shortly after returning to the United Arab Emirates from visiting his family in Cairo.
وحدث الاختفاء المزعوم في عام ٦٩٩١ وهو يتصل باستاذ جامعي يحمل الجنسية المصرية أُفيد بأنه أُعير من جامعة أسيوط في مصر إلى جامعة عجمان في اﻹمارات العربية المتحدة وقيل إنه اختفى بُعيد عودته إلى اﻹمارات العربية المتحدة بعد زيارة أسرته في القاهرة.

This one reported case of disappearance concerns Dr. Ahmed Hamdy al-Badawe, a university professor of Egyptian nationality who had been seconded from Assyat University in Egypt to Agman University in the United Arab Emirates, and who is reported to have disappeared in 1996 shortly after returning to the United Arab Emirates from visiting his family in Cairo.
وكانت هذه الحالة الوحيدة تتعلق بالدكتور أحمد حمدي البدوي، وهو أستاذ جامعي يحمل الجنسية المصرية أعير من جامعة أسيوط بمصر إلى جامعة عجمان بالإمارات العربية المتحدة، وأُبلغ عن اختفائه في عام 1996 بُعيد عودته إلى الإمارات العربية المتحدة من زيارة لأسرته في القاهرة.

The new law also, inter alia, abolished the requirement for a wife to seek her husband's authorization before applying for a passport and gave the children of an Egyptian mother married to a foreigner an equal right to Egyptian nationality.
وقد أدى أيضا القانون الجديد، في جملة أمور، إلى إلغاء الشرط الذي يقتضي من الزوجة طلب موافقة زوجها قبل التقدم بطلب الحصول على جواز سفر وإلى منح أطفال الأم المصرية المتزوجة إلى أجنبي الحق في الجنسية المصرية على قدم المساواة مع غيرهم.

The provisions of this Act address the issue of nationality in the case of the marriage of a foreign man and an Egyptian woman or of an Egyptian man and a foreign woman by establishing the basic principle that Egyptian nationality may neither be imposed on a non-Egyptian woman without her consent nor withdrawn from her on termination of her marriage to an Egyptian unless she reverts to her original nationality.
وقد عالجت مواد هذا القانون الآثار المتعلقة بالجنسية في حالة الزواج سواء أجنبي بمصرية أو مصري بأجنبية بقاعدة أساسية وهي عدم جواز فرض الجنسية المصرية على المرأة غير المصرية إلا بموافقتها وضمان عدم فقدانها لها عند انتهاء الزوجية إلا إذا استردت جنسيتها الأصلية.

Thousands of children of Egyptian women have obtained Egyptian nationality since this law was issued (see Annex 7).
حصل الآلاف من أبناء المصريات علي الجنسية المصرية منذ صدور القانون (انظر ملحق رقم 7).

18. The State party report indicates that the Nationality Law has been amended under Law No. 154 of 2004, granting gender equality regarding the transfer of Egyptian nationality to the children of a man or woman who marries an alien.

Article 6 stipulates that minor children acquire Egyptian nationality if it is granted to their father but retain the right to opt for their original nationality on reaching the age of legal majority.
