It urged States to respect the right to be equal before the courts and tribunals, and to a fair trial, and further, to take all necessary steps to ensure that persons deprived of liberty enjoy the guarantees to which they are entitled under international law, including the review of their detention and other fundamental judicial guarantees.

6. Reaffirms the fact that all migrants are entitled to equal protection by the law and that all persons, regardless of their migratory status, are equal before the courts and tribunals and, in the determination of their rights and obligations in a suit at law, are entitled to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal established by law;

6. WHEREAS the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights guarantees that all persons shall be equal before the courts and that in the determination of any criminal charge or of rights and obligations in a suit at law, everyone shall be entitled, without undue delay, to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal established by law,

14. Urges States, while countering terrorism, to respect the rights to be equal before the courts and tribunals and to a fair trial, as provided for by international law, including international human rights law, such as article 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and, as applicable, international humanitarian law and refugee law;
14- يحث الدول على أن تحترم، في سياق مكافحتها للإرهاب، الحق في المساواة أمام المحاكم والهيئات القضائية والحق في محاكمة عادلة، وفق ما ينص عليه القانون الدولي، بما في ذلك القانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان، كالمادة 14 من العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية، وبحسب الاقتضاء، القانون الإنساني الدولي وقانون اللاجئين الدولي؛

It also reaffirmed the fact that all migrants are entitled to equal protection by the law, and that all persons, regardless of their migratory status, are equal before the courts and tribunals and, in the determination of his/her rights and obligations in a suit at law, and are entitled to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal established by law (ibid.).
كما أكد من جديد حق جميع المهاجرين في التمتع على قدم المساواة بحماية القانون، وحق جميع الأشخاص، بصرف النظر عن وضعهم كمهاجرين، في المساواة أمام المحاكم والهيئات القضائية وعند تحديد حقوقهم والتزاماتهم في أي دعوى مدنية، وحقهم في محاكمة عادلة وعلنية أمام محكمة مختصة ومستقلة وحيادية ومنشأة بموجب القانون (المرجع نفسه).

In resolution 20/3 on the human rights of migrants (see A/67/53 and Corr.1, chap. II), the Council reaffirmed that all migrants were entitled to equal protection by the law and that all persons, regardless of their migratory status, were equal before the courts and tribunals and were entitled to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal.
وفي القرار 20/3 المتعلق بحقوق الإنسان للمهاجرين (انظر A/67/53 و Corr.1، الفصل الثاني)، أعاد المجلس تأكيد حق العمال المهاجرين في التمتع على قدم المساواة بحماية القانون، وحق جميع الأشخاص، بصرف النظر عن وضعهم كمهاجرين، في المساواة أمام المحاكم والهيئات القضائية، وحقهم في محاكمة عادلة وعلنية أمام محكمة مختصة ومستقلة وحيادية.

9. Moreover, article 14, paragraph 1, of the Covenant states that: " All persons shall be equal before the courts and tribunals.
