13. The Office for Outer Space Affairs, through the United Nations Programme on Space Applications, had translated that endorsement by the General Assembly into an initiative aimed at establishing regional centres for space science and technology education (affiliated to the United Nations) in developing countries.
٣١ - ترجم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي باﻷمم المتحدة ، من خلال برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للتطبيقات الفضائية ، هذا الاقرار من جانب الجمعية العامة الى مبادرة ترمي الى انشاء مراكز اقليمية )منتسبة الى اﻷمم المتحدة( لتدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء في البلدان النامية .

7. The General Assembly, in paragraph 21 of its resolution 52/56 of 10 December 1997, noted with satisfaction that the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific, affiliated to the United Nations, had continued its education programme in 1997 and that significant progress had been achieved in establishing regional centres for space science and technology education in the other regions.
٧ - ولاحظت الجمعية العامة مع الارتياح ، في الفقرة ١٢ من قرارها ٢٥/٦٥ المؤرخ ٠١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ٧٩٩١ ، أن مركز تدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء في آسيا والمحيط الهادىء ، المنتسب الى اﻷمم المتحدة ، واصل برنامجه التدريسي في عام ٧٩٩١ ، وأنه تم احراز تقدم كبير في انشاء مراكز اقليمية لتدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء في المناطق اﻷخرى .

He also welcomed UNIDO's initiative in establishing regional centres for South-South industrial cooperation, and encouraged the Organization to hold discussions with a view to establishing similar centres in other countries.

٥٢ - وذكرت اللجنة بأن الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ١٥/٣٢١، لاحظت مع الارتياح أنه تم أيضا احراز تقدم ملحوظ في إنشاء المراكز اﻹقليمية لتدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء في المناطق اﻷخرى التي تغطيها اللجان اﻹقليمية.

(xi) Provide improved access to financial and technical resources to assist small island developing States in establishing regional centres for the training and transfer of cleaner production technologies and the management of hazardous wastes, and in developing inventories to register the training and technical activities of international organizations related to waste management and cleaner production.
