40. At its 5th meeting, on 2 May, the preparatory committee had before it a draft decision entitled " Arrangements for accreditation and participation in the preparatory process and in the World Summit on Sustainable Development of relevant non-governmental organizations and other major groups " , submitted by the Chairman.

The Commission on Sustainable Development acting as the preparatory committee for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 55/199, decides on the following arrangements for accreditation and participation in the preparatory process and in the World Summit of relevant non-governmental organizations and other major groups:

3. With regard to the suggested arrangements for accreditation and participation in the preparatory process and in the World Conference on Disaster Reduction of relevant non-governmental organizations and other Major Groups, the meeting adopted the arrangements as presented by the secretariat.
3- وفيما يتعلق بالترتيبات المقترحة لاعتماد ومشاركة المنظمات غير الحكومية ذات الصلة والمجموعات الرئيسية الأخرى في العملية التحضيرية وفي المؤتمر العالمي للحد من الكوارث، فقد أقر الاجتماع الترتيبات بالصيغة المقدمة من الأمانة.

8. At the same meeting, the Preparatory Committee approved the suggested arrangements for accreditation and participation of relevant non-governmental organizations and other major groups as contained in document A/CONF.224/PC(I)/INF.2.
8- وفي الجلسة نفسها، وافقت اللجنة التحضيرية على الترتيبات المقترحة لاعتماد ومشاركة المنظمات غير الحكومية ذات الصلة والمجموعات الرئيسية الأخرى ومشاركتها، على النحو الوارد في الوثيقة A/CONF.224/PC(I)/INF.2.

6. At the same meeting, the Preparatory Committee approved the suggested list for accreditation and participation of non-governmental organizations and other major groups that may participate as observers in the Third World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction and its preparatory meetings as contained in a note by the secretariat (see A/CONF.224/PC(II)/3 and A/CONF.224/PC(II)/3/Add.1).
