All three applicants are members of the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression, a non-governmental organization with Economic and Social Council special consultative status, led by Mr. Darwish.

At its 43rd plenary meeting, on 25 July 2011, the Economic and Social Council decided to grant special consultative status to the non-governmental organization Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression.
قرر المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، في جلسته العامة 43، المعقودة في 25 تموز/يوليه 2011، منح المركز الاستشاري الخاص للمنظمة غير الحكومية، المركز السوري للإعلام وحرية التعبير.

It appears that " communicating with international organizations with the aim of having the international community condemn Syria " may relate to, inter alia, the granting of consultative status to the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression by the Economic and Social Council in 2010 and the organization's subsequent cooperation with various United Nations human rights mechanisms.

Urges the Syrian authorities to release immediately all persons arbitrarily detained, including the members of the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression, to publish a list of all detention facilities, to ensure that conditions of detention comply with applicable international law, and to allow immediately access of independent monitors to all detention facilities;
15- يحث السلطات السورية على الإفراج الفوري عن جميع الأشخاص المحتجزين تعسفاً، بمن فيهم أعضاء المركز السوري للإعلام وحرية التعبير، وعلى نشر قائمة بجميع مرافق الاحتجاز، وضمان توافق ظروف الاحتجاز مع القانون الدولي المنطبق، والسماح فوراً بوصول المراقبين المستقلين إلى جميع مرافق الاحتجاز؛

3. Urges the Syrian authorities to release immediately all persons arbitrarily detained, including the members of the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression, to publish a list of all detention facilities, to ensure that conditions of detention comply with applicable international law and to immediately allow access of independent monitors to all detention facilities;
3 - تحث السلطات السورية على إخلاء سبيل جميع الأشخاص المحتجزين تعسفا على الفور، بمن فيهم أعضاء المركز السوري للإعلام وحرية التعبير، ونشر قائمة بجميع مرافق الاحتجاز وكفالة أن تكون ظروف الاحتجاز متسقة مع القانون الدولي الساري والسماح للمراقبين المستقلين بالوصول إلى جميع مرافق الاحتجاز فورا؛
