2. Recommendations for essential-use exemptions for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers in 2014

The Parties listed in Annex A to the present decision shall not nominate for the production of essential use volumes of CFCs for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers in 2010 or any year thereafter.

In accordance with decision IV/25, three Parties - the European Community, the Russian Federation and the United States of America - submitted requests for essential-use exemptions for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers applicable to the years 2008 and 2009.

Concerned that Parties operating under paragraph 1 of Article 5 of the Protocol which consume chlorofluorocarbons for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers may find it difficult to phase out these substances without incurring economic losses to their countries,

(a) Confirmation that Bangladesh would impose a ban from the year 2010 on the import of CFCs for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers for which there were alternatives;

In addition to the nomination for aerospace applications, the Panel reported that it had received two nominations for essential-use exemptions for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers in 2014; a nomination for 212 tonnes from the Russian Federation; and a nomination of 235.05 tonnes from China.

The Co-Chair recalled that the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel had presented its recommendations on the nominations for 2014 exemptions for essential uses of CFCs for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers at the thirty-third meeting of the Open-ended Working Group.
27 - أشار الرئيس المشارك إلى أن فريق التكنولوجيا والتقييم الاقتصادي قدم توصياته بشأن تعيينات عام 2014 لإعفاءات الاستخدامات الضرورية لمركبات الكربون الكلورية فلورية لتصنيع أجهزة الاستنشاق بالجرعات المقننة إبان الدورة الثالثة والثلاثين للفريق العامل المفتوح العضوية.

4. The Parties listed in Annex A to the present decision shall not nominate for the production of essential use volumes of CFCs for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers in 2010 or any year thereafter.

The Panel noted that none of the nominations that included significant CFC volumes designated for the manufacture of metered-dose inhalers for export had demonstrated that CFC-based metered-dose inhalers were essential in the designated export markets.
