Recalling that, at its fourth meeting, the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention had added nine new persistent organic pollutants to the annexes to the Convention, she called upon the Working Group to consider how the new persistent organic pollutants might be addressed in the context of the Basel Convention with a view to providing guidance on how they were to be eliminated from stockpiles and wastes.
