Conscious of the need to confirm and further develop International Humanitarian Law with the aim of enhancing the protection of the civilian population from the effects of cluster munitions by establishing specific rules on the use, reliability, accuracy, transfer, storage, development, production, acquisition, destruction and prohibition of cluster munitions,
وإذ تدرك ضرورة ترسيخ القانون الإنساني الدولي ومواصلة تطويره بهدف تحسين حماية السكان المدنيين من آثار الذخائر العنقودية من خلال وضع قواعد محددة بشأن استخدام الذخائر العنقودية وموثوقيتها، ودقتها، ونقلها، وتخزينها، واستحداثها، وإنتاجها، وحيازتها، وتدميرها وحظرها،

3. All feasible precautions shall be taken to protect civilian population, individual civilians and civilian objects from the effects of cluster munitions.
3- وتتخذ جميع الاحتياطات الممكنة من أجل حماية السكان المدنيين وفرادى المدنيين والأعيان المدنية من آثار الذخائر العنقودية.
