It is evident from the Secretary-General's report that the OSCE is playing an increasingly important and active role in the European region.

In this connection, I wish to quote from the Secretary-General's report:

5. The Advisory Committee notes from the Secretary-General's report that the estimated requirements are based on the findings of a preliminary mission.

We have noted from the Secretary-General's report that arrangements are underway for consultations between the Emergency Relief Coordinator and those responsible for the planning of peace-keeping operations in order to take into account the humanitarian component contained in these operations.

Yet we learn with dismay from the Secretary-General's report that emergency aid funds have declined by 40 per cent in the past five years alone.

10. The Advisory Committee notes from the Secretary-General's report on the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region (A/68/287) that in conducting its activities, the Centre seeks to ensure gender balance among participants and trainers and has found that this approach contributes to the success of its training sessions and events (para. 20).
10 - وتلاحظ اللجنة الاستشارية، استنادا إلى تقرير الأمين العام عن مركز الأمم المتحدة للتدريب والتوثيق في مجال حقوق الإنسان لجنوب غرب آسيا والمنطقة العربية (A/68/287)، أن المركز يسعى، في إطار القيام بأنشطته، إلى كفالة التوازن بين الجنسين على مستوى المشاركين والمدربين وتبيّن له أن هذا النهج يُسهم في نجاح دوراته وأنشطته التدريبية (الفقرة 20).

We note from the Secretary-General's report in document A/64/210 the steady progress that has been made in promoting peace in Africa.
