The Greek Cypriot daily newspaper, Alithia, dated 21 February 2002, reported that the Greek Cypriot Defence Minister, Mr. Hasikos, had made it clear that the Greek Cypriot side " would continue to arm irrespective of the process of direct talks between the two sides " .
