In the Joint Declaration, dated 31 July 1992, the Governments of Guatemala and Belize expressed their willingness to continue the negotiations to seek a solution to the ongoing dispute, and mentioned in particular that Guatemala and Belize have not concluded a treaty definitively establishing their territorial and maritime limits, and that such a treaty would be among the desired results of the negotiations.
٤ - أعربت حكومتا غواتيمالا وبليز في اﻹعلان المشترك المؤرخ ٣١ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٢ عن رغبتهما في مواصلة اجراء المفاوضات بغية البحث عن حل للخلاف القائم، وذكر فيه، بصفة خاصة، أن غواتيمالا وبليز لم توقعا على معاهدة تعين بصورة نهائية الحدود الاقليمية والبحرية؛ وأن المعاهدة المذكورة ستكون أحدى النتائج التي تسفر عنها المفاوضات.
