On 15 November 1996, the Special Rapporteur presented his interim report on the situation of human rights in Myanmar to the fifty-first session of the General Assembly at United Nations Headquarters.

On 24 November 1995, the Special Rapporteur presented his interim report on the situation of human rights in Iraq to the General Assembly at its fiftieth session.

On 25 November 1994, the Special Rapporteur presented his interim report on the situation of human rights in Iraq to the forty-ninth session of the General Assembly at United Nations Headquarters.

1. Mr. Okola (Independent Expert on the situation of human rights in Burundi), introducing his interim report on the situation of human rights in Burundi (A/61/360), expressed gratitude to the Government of Burundi for its full support and cooperation during his missions.

2. In his interim report on extrajudicial, summary and arbitrary executions (A/61/311) he pointed to one of the ways in which the system risked being undermined: 19 of the 22 States to which he had directed requests to visit had either failed to respond or had been unable to make any concrete arrangements.

14. In his interim report on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan (A/49/650), submitted to the General Assembly on 8 November 1994, the Special Rapporteur described in paragraphs 15 to 23 the political developments which had taken place in the country since heavy fighting broke out on 1 January 1994 between the forces of former Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and those allied with President Burhanuddin Rabbani.

20. Mr. Pinheiro (Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar), introducing his interim report on developments relating to the human-rights situation in Myanmar during the first seven months of 2003 (A/58/219), said that he had made his sixth visit to the country from 3 to 8 November 2003, and had noted significant setbacks for human rights and national reconciliation since his visit in March 2003.

At its fifty-third session, the Sub-Commission, in its decision 2001/103, taking into account the recommendation made by the sessional working group on the administration of justice (E/CN.4/Sub.2/2001/7, para. 39), decided to request Mr. Louis Joinet to update, without financial implications, his interim report on the evolution of the administration of justice through military tribunals.

73. Mr. GALINDO POHL (Special Representative of the Commission on Human Rights) said that, in preparing his interim report on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran (A/48/526 and Add.1), he had drawn on various information sources, including the Iranian media.
