Nonetheless, as authorized by Council resolution 1235 (XLII) of 6 June 1967 and decision 2000/284 of 28 July 2000, and as encouraged by Commission resolution 2001/60 and decision 2000/109, the Sub-Commission discussed under its agenda item 2 urgent matters involving serious violations of human rights in countries that were also under consideration in the Commission.
