Mr. Bond (United States of America), referring to the implementation of the Performance Appraisal System (A/C.5/51/55), said it was encouraging to see that the concepts underlying that system – i.e., work planning, monitoring, feedback and appraisal – had generally been received positively by managers and staff, as had the principle of basing appraisals on pre-established performance expectations.
