Reaffirming the importance of the codification and designation by the Convention of the seabed and ocean floor and subsoil beyond the limits of national jurisdiction, as well as the resources of the Area, as the common heritage of mankind,
وإذ تؤكد من جديد أهمية ترميز الاتفاقية لقاع البحار والمحيطات وباطن أرضها خارج حدود الولاية الوطنية، بالإضافة إلى موارد المنطقة، وتصنيفها لها كتراث مشترك للإنسانية،

35. He looked forward to the Colloquium to be held on 28 and 29 October 1997 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the International Law Commission, and trusted that both the Colloquium and the seminar to be held in Geneva on 22 and 23 April 1998 would highlight the importance of the codification and progressive development of international law and strengthen the Commission’s capabilities in that area.
٣٥ - وتابع قائلا إنه يتطلع الى الندوة التي ستعقد في ٢٨ و ٢٩ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٧ للاحتفال بالذكرى الخمسيــن للجنــة القانــون الدولــي، ويثق بــأن الندوة والحلقة الدراسية اللتين ستعقدان في جنيف في ٢٢ و ٢٣ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٨ ستبرزان أهمية تدوين القانون الدولي وتطويره التدريجي وتعزيز قدرات اللجنة في هذا المجال.

30. The proposal recalled the historic significance of the Convention and reaffirmed the importance of the codification and designation by the Convention of the seabed and ocean floor and subsoil beyond the limits of national jurisdiction as well as the resources of the Areas, as the common heritage of mankind.
30 - وأشار الاقتراح إلى المدلول التاريخي للاتفاقية، وأكد مجددا على أهمية ترميز وتحديد الاتفاقية لقاع البحار والمحيطات وباطن أرضها خارج حدود الولاية الوطنية، بالإضافة إلى موارد المنطقة، وتصنيفها كتراث مشترك للبشرية.
