Member States had a primary role to play in ensuring food and nutrition security for all but other actors also made vital contributions, particularly in implementing the outcome of the Summit and the Five Rome Principles.

2. Activities of non-governmental organizations in implementing the outcome of the Summit

(a) To strengthen cooperation with Member States and with United Nations programmes, funds and relevant agencies, as well as relevant regional organizations and agencies and non-governmental organizations, and to provide, on request, assistance in implementing the outcome of the special session;
