Urges the Secretary-General to continue his efforts to implement the system of incentives to attract language staff to duty stations with high vacancy rates, and requests him to submit a comprehensive report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session analysing problems relating to recruitment in language services at all duty stations and proposing actions to address them;

24. The Committee on Conferences had called for concrete proposals on a system of managed assignments based on career incentives aimed at reducing the excessive vacancy rates in language services at some duty stations.

5. Notes with appreciation the measures taken by the Secretariat to fill current vacancies in language services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, and reiterates its request to the Secretary-General to consider further measures aimed at decreasing the vacancy rates in Nairobi and to report thereon to the General Assembly at its sixty-sixth session;

65. The Committee requested the Secretary-General to present to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session, through the Committee on Conferences, a report on the possibility of introducing a system of managed assignments, based on non-monetary incentives, that would alleviate the excessive vacancy rates in language services at some duty stations and ensure the required quality of conference services Secretariat-wide.
٦٥ - وطلبت اللجنة إلى اﻷمين العام تقديم تقرير إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين، عن طريق لجنة المؤتمرات، بشأن إمكانية استحداث نظام موجه للانتداب على أساس حوافز غير مالية من شأنه أن يقلل من معدلات الشواغر الزائدة في دوائر اللغات في بعض مراكز العمل، وأن يكفل الجودة المطلوبة في خدمات المؤتمرات في كافة أرجاء اﻷمانة العامة.
