12. The United Nations Forum of Civil Society in Support of Middle East Peace had taken place after the African Meeting, and had been attended by members of non-governmental organizations, civil society institutions and representatives of Governments and intergovernmental organizations.

41. The Chairman said that the United Nations International Meeting in Support of Middle East Peace and the United Nations Non-Governmental Organization Meeting in Solidarity with the Palestinian People would be held in Nicosia on 16 and 17 April 2002 and 18 April 2002, respectively.

The Chairman drew the Committee's attention to working paper No. 3, which contained the provisional programme for the United Nations International Conference of Civil Society in Support of Middle East Peace to be held at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris on 12 and 13 July 2005.

٣ - وقد قُدم تقرير فرقة العمل، الذي حدد احتياجات إضافية عاجلة للشعب الفلسطيني قدرت قيمتها بمبلغ ١٣٨ مليون دولار، إلى مؤتمر دعم السلم في الشرق اﻷوسط الذي دعا إلى عقده الولايات المتحدة والاتحاد الروسي، بصفتهما راعيين لعملية السلام، في واشنطن العاصمة في ١ تشرين اﻷول/اكتوبر ١٩٩٣.
