1. The law governing the sale, manufacture, possession, transport and stockpiling of weapons within Benin is Decree No. 61-31/PR/M1/AM of 7 February 1961 concerning the weapons and ammunition regime in the Republic of Benin.

1. The sale, production, possession, transport and storage of weapons inside Benin is regulated by Decree No. 61-31/PR/MU/AM of 7 February 1961 on the weapons and ammunition regime in the Republic of Benin.

1. The adoption in the Republic of Benin of Marxist-Leninist ideology and a policy of State dominance led, towards the end of the 1980s, to an economic, financial and social crisis which brought about the collapse of the banking system, an accumulation of domestic and external debt, a weakening of the productive apparatus and the impoverishment of the most vulnerable sectors of society through increased unemployment.

There exists in the Republic of Benin Act No. 97-025 of 18 July 1997 on the control of drugs and precursors, which provides for the control of production, suppression of illicit trafficking in drugs and precursors and, when necessary, the suppression of laundering of money derived from such trafficking.

39. In addition, two specific laws along the lines of these constitutional provisions have been passed: Act No. 2003-04 of 3 March 2003 on reproductive and sexual health and Act No. 2003-03 of 3 March 2003 on the suppression of the practice of female genital mutilation in the Republic of Benin.

It is also worth noting Act No. 2005-31 of 10 April 2006 on the prevention, treatment, and control of HIV/AIDS and Act No. 2006-04 of 10 April 2006 on conditions for the displacement of minors and the suppression of child trafficking in the Republic of Benin.
وينبغي أن يشار أيضاً إلى القانون رقم 2005-31 المؤرخ 10 نيسان/أبريل 2006 بشأن الوقاية من فيروس نقص المناعة البشري/الإيدز وعلاجه ومكافحته، والقانون رقم 2006-04 المؤرخ 10 نيسان/ أبريل 2006 بشأن نقل القصّر وقمع الاتجار بالأطفال في جمهورية بنن.

Act No. 2007-03 of 16 October 2007 on rural land tenure in the Republic of Benin was adopted to improve the status of women in the agricultural sector, and explicitly guarantees women the right to inherit rural land from their elders or spouses.
وقد اعتُمد القانون رقم 2007-03 المؤرخ 16 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2007 المتصل بحيازة الأراضي في الوسط الريفي في جمهورية بنن من أجل تحسين وضعية المرأة في القطاع الزراعي، حيث يكفل للنساء بصورة صريحة الحق في إرث أقاربهن وأزواجهن في الأراضي الريفية.
