Guatemala welcomed, in particular, the decision taken by the General Assembly, in its resolution 49/214, to promote the involvement of indigenous people in the planning and implementation of projects concerning them, and the decision of the Economic and Social Council to encourage the specialized agencies to supply technical assistance to those people to promote their development.
وأضاف أن غواتيمالا ترحب بشكل خاص بما قررته الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٤٩/٢١٤، من تشجيع مشاركة السكان اﻷصليين في تخطيط وتنفيذ المشاريع التي تؤثر عليهم، ولقرار المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي بحث الوكالات المتخصصة على تقديم المساعدة التقنية إلى هؤلاء السكان من أجل تعزيز تنميتهم.

(a) Request United Nations representatives in countries where there are indigenous people to promote, through the appropriate channels, greater participation of indigenous people in the planning and implementation of projects affecting them;
)أ( أن يطلب إلى ممثلي اﻷمم المتحدة في البلدان التي يوجد فيها سكان أصليون القيام، من خلال القنوات الملائمة، بتشجيع زيادة مشاركة السكان اﻷصليين في تخطيط وتنفيذ المشاريع التي تمسهم؛

(b) Request United Nations representatives in countries where there are indigenous people to promote, through the appropriate channels, greater participation of indigenous people in the planning and implementation of projects affecting them;
)ب( أن يطلب الى ممثلي اﻷمم المتحدة في البلدان التي يوجد فيها سكان أصليون القيام، من خلال القنوات الملائمة، بتشجيع زيادة مشاركة السكان اﻷصليين في تخطيط وتنفيذ المشاريع التي تؤثر عليهم؛
