In recommendation 3, on intellectual property rights, the Meeting advised the Conference of the Parties to continue gathering relevant information, to closely monitor developments in other forums, in particular the World Trade Organization and the World intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), through the secretariat, and to reaffirm the importance of sui generis systems to the aims of the Convention.

108. The Special Rapporteur at the same time wishes to thank the non—governmental organizations for cooperating in his mandated activities, both by providing information, analyses and advice, particularly in connection with the gathering and verification of allegations and the preparation and conduct of in situ visits, and by taking initiatives to strengthen the mandate in intellectual, financial, logistical and human terms.
٨٠١- وأعرب المقرر الخاص، بتواز مع ذلك، عن رغبته في تقديم الشكر إلى المنظمات غير الحكومية لما أبدته من تعاون في تأدية أنشطة الولاية سواء بالمعلومات والدراسات التحليلية التي قدمتها والمشورة التي أسدتها ولا سيما في مرحلة جمع الادعاءات والتحقق منها ولدى تحضير الزيارات الميدانية والقيام بها، أو بما قامت به من مبادرات لتعزيز الولاية على اﻷصعدة الفكري والمالي واللوجستي والبشري.

It was also noted that WIPO planned to organize an information meeting to raise awareness among its member States of the importance of intellectual property financing and the relevant work of UNCITRAL; and to distribute a questionnaire to its member States with a view to gathering information on their law on intellectual property financing and providing feedback to the Working Group.
ولوحظ أيضا أن المنظمة تخطط لتنظيم جلسة إعلامية لإذكاء الوعي بين الدول الأعضاء فيها بأهمية التمويل بحقوق الملكية الفكرية وأعمال الأونسيترال ذات الصلة؛ وتوزيع استبيان على الدول الأعضاء فيها بغية جمع معلومات عن قوانينها المتعلقة بالتمويل بحقوق الملكية الفكرية وتقديم رد بشأنها إلى الفريق العامل.

Mr. Windfuhr (FIAN - Foodfirst Information and Action Network) said that his organization was currently gathering information on cases of violations of the right to food related to the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of intellectual Property Rights and hoped to publish a detailed study of the subject at the end of February 2001.
