The participants in the inter-Tajik talks on national reconciliation under United Nations auspices have agreed as follows:
اتفق المشتركون في المحادثات الطاجيكية المشتركة بشأن المصالحة الوطنية التي جرت تحت إشراف اﻷمم المتحدة، على ما يلي:

President Rakhmonov reiterated that his Government would favour the extension of the cease-fire agreement for the entire duration of the inter-Tajik talks.

9. The inter-Tajik talks went through many crises and were often stalled over secondary questions by one or the other party, in order to gain time while political or military developments ran their course.

OIC also participated as an observer in the United Nations-sponsored inter-Tajik talks and signed the Protocol on Guarantees that constitutes part of the final Tajikistan peace accords.

Regarding the peace process in Tajikistan, it should be recalled that OIC participated as an observer in the United Nations-sponsored inter-Tajik talks that were concluded in 1997 with the signing of the General Agreement.

As a result of those efforts and the assistance of neighbouring and other countries, it was possible to reach agreement with the Tajik parties on the beginning of the inter-Tajik talks on national reconciliation.
