Candidates for election to the office of Mayor or Chairman of the Internal Committee must be native-born residents or have resided on the island for at least 10 years after attaining the status of permanent residence or, if originally born there, having lived there for at least 10 years after returning permanently to the island, in each case being of the age of 25 years.
ويشترط في المرشحين لمنصب العمدة أو رئيس اللجنة الداخلية أن يكونوا من مواليد الجزيرة والمقيمين فيها أو أن يكونوا قد أقاموا فيها لمدة لا تقل عن 10 سنوات بعد أن حصلوا على الإقامة الدائمة أو إذا كانوا بالأصل من مواليد الجزيرة يشترط أن يكونوا قد أقاموا فيها لمدة لا تقل عن 10 سنوات بعد أن عادوا للإقامة الدائمة فيها من جديد، وألا يقل سنهم عن 25 سنة.
