These personal allowances represent an individual recognition by the United Nations of service in the cause of international peace and security that is welcomed by individual peacekeepers and strengthens the compact between the United Nations and its troops and police.

In this regard, my delegation suggests that special reports be issued on major Council actions and/or situations affecting international peace and security that occur in the period between the submission of the annual reports.

37. In response to the new challenges to international peace and security that have come in the wake of the cold war, the Security Council has informally developed new working patterns even as calls have come for changes in its formal structure.
٣٧ - ردا على التحديات الجديدة التي تواجه السلم واﻷمن الدوليين والتي نشأت في أعقاب الحرب الباردة، اتخذ مجلس اﻷمن بشكل غير رسمي أنماط عمل جديدة حتى في الوقت الذي تتردد فيه الدعوة إلى إحداث تغييرات في هيكله الرسمي.

It is one of the most valuable achievements for international peace and security that an overwhelming majority of countries have decided to renounce the possession of nuclear weapons.
