It is an honour for me to nominate Mr. Ionut Suseanu, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations in New York, as one of the Vice-Chairmen of the First Committee's Bureau representing the Group of Eastern European States.

Through Mr. Ionut Suseanu of Romania, I wish to convey to Mr. Razvan Victor Rusu the Committee's sincere appreciation for his valuable contribution to the work of the First Committee in his capacity as Vice-Chairman during the fifty-seventh session.

The Committee elected Mr. Anouar Ben-Youssef (Tunisia), Mr. Suriya Chindawongse (Thailand) and Mr. Ionut Suseanu (Romania) as Vice-Chairmen and H.E. Miguel Carbo (Ecuador) as Rapporteur, by acclamation.
انتخبت اللجنة السيد أنور بن يوسف (تونس)، والسيد سوريا تشينداوونغسه (تايلند) والسيد يونوت سوسيانو (رومانيا) نوابا للرئيس ومعالي السيد ميغيل كاربو (إكوادور) مقررا، بالتزكية.

The Chairman: I thank the representative of Colombia for his nomination of Mr. Ionut Suseanu of Romania to the post of Vice-Chairman of the First Committee.

As there are no other nominations, may I take it that, in accordance with rule 103 of the rules of procedure and the established practice, the Committee wishes to dispense with a secret ballot and declare Mr. Ionut Suseanu elected Vice-Chairman of the First Committee by acclamation?
