A second issue discussed under the General Assembly heading, which cannot be ignored when we look to build an Organization that will be able to grow and strengthen in the modern world, is the issue of the relationship of the Assembly, and indeed of the United Nations system as a whole, with the ever growing range of non-governmental organizations and other actors under the umbrella term “civil society”.
