وتلاحظ أيضاً أن هذه التحفظات قد يكون لها في بعض الحالات، ولا سيما في ميادين التعليم وحرية التعبير وحق الطفل في التمتع بثقافته واستخدام لغته، تأثير سلبي في الأطفال المنتمين إلى مجموعات إثنية غير معترف بها كأقليات بموجب معاهدة لوزان لعام 1923، ولا سيما الأطفال المتحدرون من أصل كردي.

The Treaty of Lausanne of 1923 guaranteed the right of option for a period of two years from its entry into force to Turkish nationals habitually resident in the island of Cyprus; Turkey had declared that it recognized the annexation of Cyprus by the British Government.
٥١١ - وكفلت معاهدة لوزان لعام ١٩٢٣ حق الاختيار للمواطنين اﻷتراك المقيمين في جزيرة قبرص التي كانت تركيا قد اعترفت بانضمامها للحكومة البريطانية، وذلك لفترة عامين من دخول هذه المعاهدة حيز النفاذ.

It also notes that, in some cases, in particular with regard to education, freedom of expression and the right to enjoy one's own culture and use one's own language, these reservations may have a negative impact on children belonging to ethnic groups which are not recognized as minorities under the Turkish Constitution and the Treaty of Lausanne of 1923, in particular children of Kurdish origin.

9- تشجع اللجنة الدولة الطرف على أن تنظر في سحب تحفظاتها على المواد 17 و29 و30 من الاتفاقية توخياً لإتاحة أفضل الحماية والفرص لكافة مجموعات الأطفال، لا سيما الأطفال المتحدرون من أصل كردي، الذين لا يُعترف بهم كأقلية بموجب الدستور التركي ومعاهدة لوزان لعام 1923.

The Committee takes note of the explanation by the State party of the reason why only Greek citizens belonging to the Muslim minority in Thrace, as determined by the Treaty of Lausanne of 1923, fall within the scope of the term " minority " , and are recognized as such.
8- تحيط اللجنة علماً بتفسـير الدولة الطـرف لسبب إدراج المواطنين اليونانيين المنتمين إلـى الأقليـة المسلمة وحدهم في نطاق عبـارة " الأقلية " في منطقة تراقيا، كما نصت عليه معاهدة لوزان لعام 1923، ويعترف بهم بهذه الصفة.

56. The independent expert on minority issues, following a visit to Greece in September 2008, noted that Greece recognized only one minority, the Muslim religious community in Western Thrace, which was protected by the Treaty of Lausanne of 1923.
56- أشار الخبير المستقل المعني بقضايا الأقليات في أعقاب زيارة قام بها إلى اليونان في أيلول/سبتمبر 2008، إلى أن البلد يعترف بأقلية واحدة فقط، وهي الأقلية الدينية المسلمة في تراقيا الغربية، وهي أقلية محمية بموجب معاهدة لوزان لعام 1923.

The Government of Turkey mentioned the Treaty of Lausanne of 1923, 1/ by which Turkey agreed to the identification of a number of population groups as " minorities " .

إن الحجة الواردة في القرار المذكور، ومؤداها أن المركز القانوني لبحر إيجه حددته معاهدة لوزان لعام ١٩٢٣ وأن أي قرار من جانب اليونان بمد مجال مياهها اﻹقليمية الوطنية إلى ١٢ ميلا من شأنه أن يعكس هذا المركز، إنما هي حجة لا اساس لها، إذ أن حقوق البلدان الساحلية يحددها قانون البحار الدولي، التقليدي منه والعرفي.
