22. Following the incidents that took place in August and September 1996, UNFICYP was contacted by a number of Turkish Cypriots living in the southern part of the island who expressed concern for their safety.

10. Welcomes the ongoing efforts by the Force to implement its humanitarian mandate in respect of Greek Cypriots and Maronites living in the northern part of the island and Turkish Cypriots living in the southern part, as mentioned in the report of the Secretary-General;
١٠ - يرحــب بالجهـــود المستمرة التي تبذلها القوة من أجل تنفيذ ولايتها اﻹنسانيـــة فيما يتعلـــق بالقبارصة اليونانيين والموارنة الذين يعيشون في الجزء الشمالي من الجزيرة، والقبارصة اﻷتراك الذين يعيشون في الجزء الجنوبي منها، على النحو المذكور في تقرير اﻷمين العام؛

13. In connection with freedom of religion, as well as the prohibition of arbitrary interference with family life, in May 2002, a law was passed addressing the restrictions on the right to marry of Turkish Cypriots living in the southern part of the island.
13- وبشأن حرية الدين، وكذلك تحريم التدخُّل التعسفي في حياة الأسرة، صدر في أيار/مايو 2002 قانون بشأن القيود المفروضة على الحق في الزواج من القبارصة الأتراك الذين يعيشون في الجزء الجنوبي من الجزيرة.
