The international community responded as well by convening a Conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention on measures to enforce the Convention in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem.

27. In paragraph 1971 (c) of its report, the Mission recommended that the General Assembly should ask the Government of Switzerland to convene a conference of the high contracting parties to the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War on measures to enforce the Convention in the occupied Palestinian territory and to ensure its respect in accordance with its article 1.

7. The participants strongly supported the convening of the conference on measures to enforce the Convention in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, as recommended in General Assembly resolutions ES-10/3, 4 and 5.
٧ - وأيد المشتركون بقوة عقد اجتماع بشأن تدابير إنفاذ الاتفاقية في اﻷراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما فيها القدس، كما أوصت بذلك قرارات الجمعية العامة د إ ط - ١٠/٣ و ٤ و ٥.

It is therefore essential that the conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention is convened as soon as possible on measures to enforce the Convention in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem, and to ensure its respect in accordance with common article 1 of all four Geneva Conventions.

The draft resolution before us, of which Morocco is a sponsor, reiterates the recommendations made by the General Assembly in its previous resolutions, particularly that of convening a conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention on measures to enforce the Convention in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.
إن مشروع القرار المعروض علينا الذي تقدمه المغرب، يؤكد من جديد التوصيات الصادرة عن الجمعية العامة في قراراتها السابقة، ولا سيما التوصيات المتعلقة بعقد مؤتمر لﻷطراف المتعاقدة السامية في اتفاقية جنيف بشأن تدابير إنفاذ الاتفاقية في اﻷرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما في ذلك القدس.

Through operative paragraph 10, the Assembly would recommend that the High Contracting Parties of the aforementioned Convention convene a conference on measures to enforce the Convention in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem, and to ensure its respect, in accordance with common article 1, and requests the Secretary-General to present a report on the matter within three months.
وفي الفقرة ١٠ من المنطوق توصي الجمعية اﻷطراف المتعاقدة السامية في اتفاقية جنيف اﻵنفة الذكر بأن يعقدوا مؤتمرا بشأن تدابير إنفاذ الاتفاقية في اﻷرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما فيها القدس، وضمان احترامها، وفقا ﻷحكام المادة العامة ١، وتطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا بشأن المسألة في غضون ثلاثة أشهر.

The resolution, inter alia, recommended that the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War convene a conference on measures to enforce the Convention in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem, and to ensure its respect, in accordance with common article 1.
وأوصى القرار، في جملة أمور، اﻷطراف المتعاقدة السامية في اتفاقية جنيف المتعلقة بحماية المدنيين وقت الحرب بأن يعقدوا مؤتمرا بشأن تدابير إنفاذ الاتفاقية في اﻷرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما فيها القدس، وضمان احترامها وفقا ﻷحكام المادة العامة ١.

(c) The Mission recommends that the General Assembly should ask the Government of Switzerland to convene a conference of the high contracting parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 on measures to enforce the Convention in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and to ensure its respect in accordance with its article 1;

19. The Committee supported the convening on 15 July 1999 at the United Nations Office at Geneva of the Conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention on measures to enforce the Convention in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, as recommended by the General Assembly at its tenth emergency special session in its resolution ES-10/6.
٩١ - وقدمت اللجنة دعمها لعقد مؤتمر اﻷطراف المتعاقدة السامية في اتفاقية جنيف الرابعة المتعلقة بتدابير إنفاذ الاتفاقية في اﻷرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما فيها القدس، كما أوصت بذلك الجمعية العامة في دورتها الاستثنائية الطارئة العاشرة، في قرارها دإط - ٠١/٦، وعقد المؤتمر في ٥١ تموز/يوليه ٩٩٩١ في مكتب اﻷمم المتحدة بجنيف.

We support the aforementioned resolutions and urge the Government of Switzerland, in its capacity as the depositary of the Fourth Geneva Convention, to convene the conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention on measures to enforce the Convention in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.
