The Organization has always committed itself to actions to maintain international peace and security. It has been able to foster friendly relations between nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights of peoples and their right to self-determination.
لقد ظلت المنظمة ملتزمة دائما بالعمل على المحافظة على السلم واﻷمن الدوليين، وتمكنت من تعزيز العلاقات الودية بين الدول على أساس احترام مبدأ مساواة الشعوب في الحقوق، وحقها في تقرير المصير.

Reaffirming the purpose of the United Nations to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace,
إذ تؤكد من جديد مقصد اﻷمم المتحدة المتمثل في إقامة علاقات ودية بين اﻷمم على أساس احترام مبدأ المساواة في الحقوق وتقرير المصير للشعوب، وفي اتخاذ التدابير اﻷخرى الملائمة لتعزيز السلم العالمي،

" رغبة في تهيئة دواعي الاستقرار والرفاهية الضروريين لقيام علاقات سلمية ودية بين اﻷمم مؤسسة على احترام المبدأ الذي يقضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها تقرير مصيرها، تعمل اﻷمم المتحدة على:

Aware that the development of friendly relations among nations, based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, is among the purposes and principles of the United Nations, as defined in the Charter,
إذ تدرك أن تنمية العلاقات الودية بين الدول على أساس احترام مبدأ المساواة في الحقوق وتقرير المصير للشعوب تندرج ضمن مقاصد الأمم المتحدة ومبادئها المحددة في الميثاق،

Aware that the development of friendly relations among nations, based on respect for the principle of equal rights and selfdetermination of peoples, is among the purposes and principles of the United Nations, as defined in the Charter,
إذ تدرك أن تنمية العلاقات الودية بين الدول على أساس احترام مبدأ المساواة في الحقوق وتقرير المصير للشعوب تندرج ضمن مقاصد الأمم المتحدة ومبادئها المحددة في الميثاق،

وتضيف المادة ٥٥ " رغبة في تهيئة دواعي الاستقرار والرفاهية الضروريين لقيام علاقات سلمية ودية بين اﻷمم مؤسسة على احترام المبدأ الذي يقضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها تقرير مصيرها " .
