I wish to inform the Security Council of my intention to appoint, in accordance with resolution 1595 (2005), Mr. Detlev Mehlis of Germany as the Commissioner of the United Nations International Independent Investigation Commission established following the assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
أود أن أبلغ مجلس الأمن باعتزامي تعيين السيد ديتلف مهلس من ألمانيا ، مفوضا للجنة المستقلة الدولية للتحقيق التابعة للأمم المتحدة والمنشأة عقب اغتيال رئيس الوزراء اللبناني رفيق الحريري، وذلك عملا بالقرار 1595 (2005).

My delegation welcomes the decision by the Syrian Arab Republic to allow the United Nations International Independent Investigation Commission to question its senior officials over the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
