In accordance with the decisions taken in connection with the revitalization of the work of the General Assembly, particularly resolutions 56/509 and 58/126, the Committee would take up agenda item 5, entitled " Election of the officers of the Main Committees " approximately three months before the next session of the Assembly.

In our view, it would be appropriate for the General Committee to take a fresh look at the provisional agenda of the fifty-third session of the General Assembly in accordance with paragraphs 33 to 35 of the report of the Working Group, and to prepare its suggestions in this regard for the next session of the Assembly.

It was suggested that it would be important to test the waters first by seeing if the First Committee of the General Assembly would be willing and able to adopt a strong resolution on the revitalization of the Conference at the next session of the Assembly.

المادة ٨٧ اذا توقف انتماء عضو الى المجلس قبل انتهاء مدة عضويته، يجري انتخاب فرعي مستقل في الدورة التالية للجمعية لانتخاب عضو لما تبقى من المدة.
