1. The deprivation of liberty of Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez, Fernando González Llort, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Ramón Labañino Salazar and René González Sehweret is arbitrary, being in contravention of article 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and corresponds to category III of the applicable categories examined in the cases before the Working Group.
1 - إن حرمان أنطونيو غيريرو رودريغز وفيرناندو غونزاليس يورت وخيراردو هيرناندس نورديلو ورامون لابانيينو سالازار ورنيه غونزاليس سيويرت أمر تعسفي يتعارض مع المادة 14 من العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية، وينتمي إلى الفئة الثالثة من الفئات المنطبقة على القضايا المعروضة على الفريق العامل.

2. Therefore, a fair and expedited trial is sought for Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez, Fernando González Llort, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Ramón Labañino Salazar and René González Sehwerert under the laws of the United States and the international instruments signed and ratified by that country.

With this further reprisal, the United States Government seeks to break the will and the revolutionary spirit of Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, who, along with René González, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino and Antonio Guerrero, have been serving unjust and arbitrary sentences for a decade for reporting the criminal activity of the terrorist groups that operated and continue to operate with total impunity against Cuba from United States territory.

The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention issued the following opinion: the deprivation of liberty of Mr. Antonio Herreros Rodríguez, Mr. Fernando González Llort, Mr. Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Mr. Ramón Labaniño Salazar and Mr. René González Schweret is arbitrary, being in contravention of article 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
