105. The Committee notes the efforts made to encourage the participation of children within the family and in schools.

The Committee also recommends that the State party strengthen measures to address ill-treatment of children within the family and to ensure the prevention, timely reporting and prosecution of instances of child abuse.

72. In particular, the Committee was concerned that appropriate measures had not been taken to prevent and combat ill-treatment of children within the family and at the lack of information on this matter.

In the light, inter alia, of articles 19 and 39 of the Convention, the Committee recommends that the State party take all appropriate measures to prevent and combat ill-treatment and sexual abuse of children within the family, schools and society at large.

The Committee is further concerned about the lack of a national strategy and programmes to support parents and families in fulfilling their child-rearing obligations, as well as the lack of family counselling and parenting programmes, which increase the risk of neglect, maltreatment and abuse of children within the family.

(ج) وضع نهج منهجي لزيادة الوعي بحقوق الأطفال في التعبير عن آرائهم والإصغاء إليهم، وتشجيع احترام آراء الأطفال داخل الأسرة وفي المدارس ومؤسسات الرعاية والمجتمع؛

In the light of, inter alia, articles 19 and 39 of the Convention, the Committee recommends that the State party take effective measures, including reinforcing current multidisciplinary programmes and rehabilitation measures to prevent and combat child abuse and illtreatment of children within the family, at school and in society at large.

152. The Committee recommends that special attention be given to the problems of ill-treatment and abuse, including sexual abuse of children within the family and corporal punishment in schools, and stresses the need for information and education campaigns to prevent and combat the use of any form of physical or mental violence against children, in accordance with article 19 of the Convention.
٢٥١- وتوصي اللجنة بإيلاء اهتمام خاص للمشاكل المتعلقة بإساءة معاملة اﻷطفال وإيذائهم، بما في ذلك الاعتداء الجنسي على اﻷطفال في محيط اﻷسرة واستخدام العقوبة البدنية في المدارس، وتشدد على ضرورة القيام بحملات إعلامية وتثقيفية من أجل منع ومكافحة استخدام أي شكل من أشكال العنف البدني أو المعنوي ضد اﻷطفال وذلك وفقاً للمادة ٩١ من الاتفاقية.

The Committee recommends that the State party amend legislation, including the Penal Code, to prohibit and criminalize domestic violence, including marital rape, and prohibit corporal punishment of children within the family and alternative care settings.
