(a) Limit as much as possible that a child victim of crimes covered under the Optional Protocol has to testify in Court;

Malaysia reiterated its position that extraterritorial jurisdiction applied solely to certain classes of crimes covered in its domestic legislation and reflecting customary international law, such as offences under the Geneva Conventions of 1949 or sea piracy; a jurisdictional link had to be established with respect to terrorism-related offences.
وأكدت ماليزيا مجددا موقفها بأن الولاية القضائية خارج أراضي الدولة تطبق فقط على فئات معينة من الجرائم المشمولة بالتشريع المحلي والتي تعكس القانون العرفي الدولي، مثل الجرائم التي يعاقب عليها بموجب اتفاقيات جنيف لعام 1949 أو القرصنة البحرية؛ ويتعين إيجاد صلة قضائية فيما يتصل بالجرائم المتصلة بالإرهاب.

The importance of addressing the needs of the victims of crimes covered by the Convention, in particular the need for assistance and protection, is also recognized by the Convention.
7- وسلّمت الاتفاقية أيضا بأهمية تلبية احتياجات ضحايا الجرائم المشمولة بالاتفاقية، ولا سيما الحاجة إلى توفير المساعدة والحماية.
