There have been noteworthy efforts to strengthen the Counter-Narcotics Department of the National Security Council of Afghanistan, assist in the law enforcement and criminal justice sectors, support the coordination of drug control efforts with neighbouring States and engage the agencies involved in post-conflict reconstruction to ensure that the elimination of illicit drug crops remained a priority.
