Pursuant to decision 5/CP.7, the LDC/Adaptation unit, in cooperation with the IMP Programme, organized the workshop on the status of modelling activities to assess the adverse effects of climate change and the impact of implemented response measures in May 2002.
54- وعملاً بالمقرر 5/م أ-7، قامت وحدة أقل البلدان نمواً/التكيف، بالتعاون مع برنامج التنفيذ، بتنظيم حلقة العمل التي عقدت في أيار/مايو 2002 بشأن حالة أنشطة وضع النماذج لتقييم الآثار السلبية لتغير المناخ وتأثير تدابير الاستجابة المنفذة.

By the same decision, the secretariat was requested, inter alia, to organize a workshop on the status of modelling activities to assess the adverse effects of climate change and the impact of response measures already implemented on individual developing country Parties.
وطُلب إلى الأمانة في المقرر نفسه القيام بجملة أمور منها تنظيم حلقة عمل بشأن حالة أنشطة وضع النماذج لتقييم الآثار الضارة لتغير المناخ وأثر تدابير الاستجابة التي نُفذت فعلاً على فرادى البلدان النامية الأطراف.

Action: The SBI may wish to take note of the above-mentioned report on the workshop on the status of modelling activities and to consider the submissions from Parties on this workshop.

It decided to consider these views, as well as those contained in document FCCC/SBI/2002/MISC.3 and Add.1, together with the outcome of the workshop on the status of modelling activities referred to in paragraph 33 of decision 5/CP.7, at its eighteenth session.

At the 3rd meeting, the Chair of the workshop on the status of modelling activities to assess the adverse effects of climate change and the impact of response measures already implemented on individual developing country Parties, held from 16 to 18 May 2002, Ms. Daniela Stoytcheva (Bulgaria), Vice-Chair of the SBI, made an oral report on the workshop.

National communications from Annex I and non-Annex I Parties were mentioned as useful channels for disseminating experience on the appropriateness of modelling activities to assess the adverse effects of climate change, the impact of the implementation of response measures, and approaches to minimize the adverse effects of response measures on developing country Parties.
