On this basis, I propose that the mandate of MONUA be extended until 31 January 1999, on the understanding that the Security Council would conduct a comprehensive review of the situation by the end of November 1998.

VII. DRAWDOWN of MONUA AND ITS LIQUIDATION PHASE

Council members expressed their support for renewed, urgent diplomatic efforts on the part of the Secretary-General and others, as well as their concern about the ongoing security of MONUA personnel.
وأعرب أعضاء المجلس عن تأييدهم لمعاودة بذل جهود دبلوماسية ملحة من قبل اﻷمين العام وغيره، وكذلك عن قلقهم إزاء الوضع اﻷمني الحالي ﻷفراد بعثة المراقبين.
