IS3.46 The requirements of $3,509,100 provide for the continuation of 21 posts in the public services units of the Department of Public Information at Headquarters, Geneva and Vienna, as detailed in table IS3.16 above.

Other options aimed at dealing with the shortage of information centre posts at the Director level are being considered, including the idea of making qualified information officers of the Department of Public Information at Headquarters available for service on temporary assignments at information centres.

18. From 5 to 9 May 2014, the Department, working closely with the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Political Affairs, organized a communications workshop in Entebbe, Uganda, for chiefs of Public Information at peacekeeping operations.
