Extension of the terms of the ad litem judges of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991
تمديد فترة ولاية القضاة المخصصين في المحكمة الدوليــــة لمحاكمـة الأشخـاص المسؤولـين عن الانتهاكـات الجسيمة للقانون الإنسان الدولي التي ارتكبت في إقليم يوغوسلافيا السابقة منذ عام 1991

Recalling also its resolution 55/___ on the conditions of service of the ad litem judges of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia,
وإذ تشير إلى قرار الجمعية العامة 55/--- عن ظروف عمل القضاة الخاصين في المحكمة الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة،

In so doing, the Assembly also agreed that the conditions of service of the ad litem judges of ICTR would be reviewed at its fifty-ninth session.

64/261. Conditions of service of the ad litem judges of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda
64/261 - شروط خدمة القضاة المخصصين في المحكمة الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة والمحكمة الجنائية الدولية لرواندا

1. By his letters to the General Assembly and the Security Council dated 13 June 2008, the Secretary-General requested both the Assembly and the Council to authorize the extension of the terms of the ad litem judges of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
1 - طلب الأمين العام، إلى الجمعية العامة ومجلس الأمن في رسالتيه المؤرختين 13 حزيران/يونيه 2008، الموجهتين إليهما الإذن بتمديد فترة ولاية القضاة المخصصين في المحكمة الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة.

Indeed, the note states that the terms of the ad litem judges of the ICTY come to an end only on 23 August 2009.
و تبين المذكّرة، بالفعل، أن فترة ولاية القضاة المخصصين في المحكمة الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة لن تنتهي قبل 23 آب/أغسطس 2009.

5. In various resolutions, the Security Council had extended the term of office of the ad litem judges of both Tribunals beyond the maximum cumulative period of three years.
5 - وأضافت أن مجلس الأمن مدد، في قرارات مختلفة، مدة عضوية القضاة المخصصين في كلا المحكمتين لأكثر من الحد الأقصى للفترة الإجمالية المنصوص عليها وهي ثلاث سنوات.

18. Nearly three quarters of the ad litem judges of the two Tribunals would have completed three years' cumulative service by the end of 2010.
18 - واستطرد يقول إن ما يقرب من ثلاثة أرباع القضاة المخصصين في المحكمتين سيكملون مدة خدمة تراكمية تتجاوز ثلاث سنوات بحلول نهاية عام 2010.

Further recognizing the decisions to extend the terms of office of the ad litem judges of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia beyond a cumulative period of service of three years, in the greater interest of successful implementation of the completion strategies of the Tribunals,
وإذ تدرك كذلك أنه تم اتخاذ قرارات لتمديد فترة خدمة القضاة المخصصين في المحكمة الجنائية الدولية لرواندا والمحكمة الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة بعد تراكم فترة خدمة مدتها ثلاث سنوات، تحقيقا لمصلحة أكبر تتمثل في تنفيذ استراتيجيتي الإنجاز للمحكمتين بنجاح،

The second matter that President Jorda addresses in his letter concerns the powers of the ad litem judges of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
أما المسألة الثانية التي يعرضها الرئيس جوردا في رسالته فتتعلق بسلطات القضاة الخاصين بدعوى في المحكمة الجنائية الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة.

6. The list of candidates for ad litem judges and the procedure for the election of the ad litem judges of the International Tribunal for Rwanda are set out below.
6 - وترد أدناه قائمة المرشحين لمنصب القضاة المخصصين، مع بيان إجراءات انتخاب القضاة المخصصين للمحكمة الدولية لرواندا.

2. In paragraph 5 of his report, the Secretary-General indicates that the report was submitted in response to requests from the Presidents of the two Tribunals to bring to the urgent attention of the General Assembly the issue of the terms and conditions of the ad litem judges of the two Tribunals, in particular the issue of pension benefits.
2 - ويشير الأمين العام، في الفقرة 5 من تقريره، إلى أن التقرير قدم استجابة لطلبات من رئيسي المحكمتين بتوجيه اهتمام الجمعية العامة على نحو عاجل إلى مسألة القواعد والشروط المطبقة على القضاة المخصصين في المحكمتين، ولا سيما مسألة استحقاقات التقاعد.
