It was decided that subparagraph (i), which dealt with the liability of the certification authority for failure to comply with its own certification practice statement, should be retained.

It was widely felt that no final decision could be made with regard to the minimum contents of a certificate before the issue of liability of the certification authority and the question of the types of certificates to be covered had been clarified.
