Effective measures to be taken by the Department to seek the evaluation by Member States of the quality of the conference services provided to them, as a key performance indicator of the Department, will provide equal opportunities to Member States to present their evaluations in the six official languages of the United Nations and will be in full compliance with relevant resolutions of the General Assembly.

The Committee welcomed the initiative of the Secretariat in contacting delegations to ask them to express their opinions on the quality of the conference services provided, noted with appreciation that it was planned to carry out a more wide-ranging survey and encouraged the Secretariat to organize such surveys regularly.
٧٨ - ورحبت اللجنة بمبادرة اﻷمانة العامة بشأن الاتصال بالوفود لمطالبتها بإبداء آرائها بخصوص نوعية خدمات المؤتمرات المقدمة لها، ولاحظت بارتياح أنه من المزمع تنفيذ دراسة استقصائية أوسع نطاقا في هذا المجال، وحثت اﻷمانة العامة على تنظيم إجراء مثل هذه الدراسات دوريا.

2.9 (a) Quality and efficiency of the conference services provided to United Nations organs, particularly as regards the timely issuance of documentation, was evidenced by the issuance of 60 per cent of documents by the six-week deadline compared to 50 per cent in the previous biennium, even though only 22 per cent of the documents were submitted on time.
