4. Requests the Secretary-General to prepare a comprehensive document compiling information on the mandates, composition, functions and working methods of the functional commissions and expert groups and bodies and to submit it to the Council not later than February 1997;
٤ - يطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يعد وثيقة شاملة يجمع فيها المعلومات المتعلقة بولايات اللجان الفنية وأفرقة الخبراء والهيئات وتكوينها ووظائفها وأساليــب عملها، وأن يقــدمها إلى المجلس في موعد لا يتجاوز شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧؛

2. The Secretary-General's report on the establishment, terms of reference, membership and composition, terms of office of members, reporting procedures and frequency of meetings of subsidiary bodies of the Council is contained in document E/1996/97. This report presents further information on the working methods of the functional commissions and expert groups of the Council.

In its resolution 1996/41 B, the Council requested the Secretariat to prepare a comprehensive document compiling information on the mandates, composition, functions and working methods of the functional commissions and expert groups and bodies and to submit it to the Council not later than February 1997.
وطلب المجلس في قراره ١٩٩٦/٤١ باء الى اﻷمين العام أن يعد وثيقة شاملة يجمع فيها معلومات تتعلق بولاية اللجان الفنية وأفرقة الخبراء والهيئات وتكوينها ووظائفها وأساليب عملها وأن يقدمها الى المجلس في موعد لا يتجاوز شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧.

An addendum to that report (E/1996/97/Add.1) provided further information on the working methods of the functional commissions and expert groups of the Council.

In Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/41 of 26 July 1996, adopted pursuant to its consideration of the follow-up to General Assembly resolution 50/227 of 24 May 1996, the Council requested the Secretary-General to prepare a comprehensive document compiling information on the mandates, composition, functions and working methods of the functional commissions and expert groups and bodies and to submit it to the Council.
وفي قرار المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي 1996/41 المؤرخ 26 تموز/يوليه 1996، المتخذ عملا بما انتهى إليه نظره في متابعة قرار الجمعية العامة 50/227 المؤرخ 24 أيار/مايو 1996، طلب المجلس إلى الأمين العام أن يعد وثيقة شاملة يجمع فيها المعلومات المتعلقة بولايات اللجان الفنية وأفرقة الخبراء والهيئات وتكوينها ووظائفها وأساليب عملها، وأن يقدمها إلى المجلس.

Consequently, a report of the Secretary-General entitled " Subsidiary bodies of the Economic and Social Council and the General Assembly in the economic, social and related fields " (E/1996/97) was presented to the Council at its resumed substantive session of 1996, together with an addendum (E/1996/97/Add.1), providing further information on the working methods of the functional commissions and expert groups of the Council.
